For that particular weekend ; it was located in an ideal location with parking available. The room was quite nice and more spacious than some of the rooms in the area; with a closet.
I really felt uncomfortable with the main entrance located directly off the street with no one manning the desk; One would have to call a cell phone number to check in. The main door was locked after 10 pm, you had to use your card to gain entry; but before that, no one was there. Security on the floors: the elevator opened directly into the stairwell, which I found odd; anyone could have gained entrance to the stairwell from the unmanned desk; The rooms were nice, but dark because they overlooked the other rooms, no view.
Clean convenient with secure indoor parking
Lack of service, no one immediately available at scheduled 3 pm checkin. We had to call & then wait for service (about 15 min). No coffee pot nor convenient coffee/breakfast. Restaurant in hotel still not open at 9:30 am Saturday. Also, booked king room & got 2 full beds (king room was available only in a suite for more $$)
I loved my stay at The white pearl. Everything I thought was going to be wrong according to the bad reviews on Yelp were right. The staff were really friendly, the hotel and rooms were clean and comfortable, the pool and sundeck were fun and that cafe in the hotel was delicious!! we asked for a blow dryer and got one very quickly, we were also referred as the room 302 girls, made us feel right at home. Oh and the shuttle! great move. thank you white pearl for the wonderful stay! I really think there needs to be a reevaluation on the hotels website, doesnt give the hotel the credit it deserves.
My only problem and theres nothing white pearl can do about it.. is that the hotel is 3 blocks away from the boardwalk/beach. its not a big deal just wish it was closer.
everything within walking distance
Limited parking,1st come 1st serve.Hotel has 4 floors and only 14 parking spots
The a/c worked well
Bathroom was missing ceiling tiles, bathroom faucet was loose, no refrigerator, matress were uncomfortable, lawyers office from our room you could hear them talking early in the morning
no son las habitacones y el confort de acuerdo a lo descrito en booking
We understood from the website that off street parking could accomodate all guests. Also, the front desk computer was being overidden from a remote location, preventing us from signing in. After a 3 hour ride, all we wanted to do was get to our room.
Not much!! Location was our goal -- to be near the beach and hear the ocean. All we heard was loud noises and slamming doors! Couple of staff "apologized" for our inconveniences but never once tried to make anything right. The night clerk stated he wouldn't normally have been there (so how do online reservations get their keys otherwise). He was friendly and give us his cell phone # in case there were concerns. We should have called him but who wants to disturb someone in the middle of the night?
This was our most disappointing place to stay. We thought (according to the description and the map) that it was near the beach, upscale, and pleasant. It ended up being loud, dingey, and the opposite of what we were looking for. Doors were slamming throughout the motel all night long (from late at night all the way until morning). The room was not as clean as described and there were lots of people loitering around the front near the lobby late at night (seedy people). I didn't feel very safe NOR did we get what we paid for. The price online was nearly double the special rate offered (seen on a large banner on the front and sides of the building). Booking showed this as offering breakfast. There was no breakfast. The place felt like a brothel.
The hotel was very clean and within walking distance to the beach..I would stay there again for sure..The upstairs deck was also very nice!!! Great value for the $$$..
The only thing nice I have to say about this hotel is that the cosmetics are satisfactory. The heated indoor pool is nice and warm. Just dont look at the black sediments on the bottom.
There is a rude, loud, ignorant manager by the name of Steve. It took the manager 20min to come downstairs to check us in. When he arrived the manager began to yell at me about Booked.net, and how he doesnt like them. Then the manager saw that the first night was paid through Booked.net, he says, "I dont know what happened here! Maybe you didnt have enough money on your card?" I had to explain the policies of Booked.net to him. Will never return there...stay @ the Aztec Hotel or the Bay Breeze across the street
The location and pricing were what were to be expected.
There was only one man working the front desk which took a long time to get us checked in because he was the only one who seemed to actually be running the hotel. But in the end, he was nice and upgraded our room without asking for the same price we booked it. Thanks!
Steve the manager tries his best to do what he can to help you!
You can tell that the hotel is always being redone.. However, the one room had black mold and smelled aweful of smoke. Our other room was good. Several bulbs were burnt out... And you could just tell the cleaning staff rushed through the rooms..or perhaps just did not do a good job..... Ever since I watched Hotel Impossible I doomed myself. I see everything now..... With that being said, We always stay at luxury hotels like the Bellagio, Borgata.. And you just have to suck it up if you are doing the Jersey Shore. By far from what I saw on the internet.. The White Pearl was the most updated!
The location of the hotel was perfect. You are close to the boardwalk without being right on top of the boardwalk. Also the parking garage was a huge plus due to the fact that you would usually have to pay for parking and sometimes might not find parking next to your stay location. The indoor pool was also a huge plus because it was raining the two days that we stayed in Seaside so it gave us an activity to do without getting soaked by the rain.
the only thing that I can think of that was negative about the White Pearl, and this can/should be looked at as a important negative, is that the door didn't/wouldn't lock when the door was shut. Meaning the only way it would lock is if you were inside and used the security lock. Other than that, anyone would be able to walk into your room if they really wanted to when you weren't there.
Cheerful comfortable rooms but the beds could have been a little more comfortable. Not bad overall.
The indoor pool was a waste. It was too hot and humid in the pool area and you could not open the windows to get a breeze and cool off the area. Felt like a sauna.
Had restaurant in lobby.
Arrived late at night, opened door and light switch inside the door didn't work. Had trouble finding room. Too many corridors. No good directions on wall for finding room number. Had trouble locating elevator to go back downstairs. Weird....
